The House That Dripped Blood
Lyrics
Banter
- This is a song about how you may find yourself in a marriage—[Audience member cheers]—yes, you say ‘Woo!’ now. But, my friend there may come a day when you have to temper that ‘woo’. The ‘woo’ which you said for marriage, you may have to temper it with a slight bit of— [Audience begins to boo in response]— booze! Yes, I didn’t quite hear what you said but booze is what I meant. [Drum sting] You know, you may find yourself saying, “I liked this marriage pretty well. At first. Then I developed a fondness for the stronger drink.” And you may look at your intended, and say, “Every time I see a horror movie in which the people kill each other I think of you.” When you say that, my friends… you’re not going to get the kind of answer you were hoping for. I have come as a spiritual counselor to tell you that, but I know those of you who know what I am talking about, my words will fall on deaf ears. God bless you. (2008)
